Watch us on Democracy Now and in New Orleans
We also won two awards, and have more screenings coming up in Chicago and NYC
On April 22, my new film Powerlands was featured on Democracy Now for Earth Day. You can watch the segment, with an interview and clips from the film, here:
We have more screenings coming up, including May 18 in New Orleans, at The Broad Theater, in a special event presented by Deep South Center for Environmental Justice and PATOIS Film Collective. Featuring a post-screening discussion with:
Shannon Rainey, President of Residents of Gordon Plaza
Donny Verdin, Vice Principle Chief, United Houma Nation
Powerlands Director Ivey Camille Manybeads Tso
You can see more information and buy tickets here.
We hope to have a screening in NYC soon. Reach out if you know organizations that may be interested in partnering with us to present the film. For those in Chicago, the film is screening this Wednesday at the First Nations Film and Video Festival. We’re also seeking more partners for potential screenings in Los Angeles, New Mexico, and DC. Hopefully, more cities to come!
The film also won Best Feature at American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs). Here’s Ivey Camille Manybeads Tso after winning the award.
We also just won Best Environmental Documentary at Arizona International Film Festival!
