We’re excited to finally bring Powerlands to NYC next week! RSVP to join us April 19 at the People’s Forum, in an event hosted by Center for Constitutional Rights. Ivey-Camille and I will be there in person, along with Nadia Ben-Youssef of CCR, and other special guests. We will also be screening April 20 at 6:00pm at Starr Bar in Brooklyn.
You can also join one or both of us in person at our screenings in Hawai’i on April 16 and with Cinema Politica in Montreal on April 17 and May 8 in Vancouver. Other upcoming screenings include the Mitchell Museum in Illinois, Over The Rhine Festival in Cincinnati, Manitoulin Island in Canada, and the Queer Women of Color Film Festival in San Francisco.
Among our highlights from the past few weeks: We brought the film to Berlin, Santiago de Cuba, The National Museum of the American Indian in DC, and the London School of Economics. We were featured in a news report from Belly of the Beast in Cuba and in New Internationalist. On youtube, you can watch some of our post screening discussions in New Orleans, Chicago, and at a football club in London.
